job summary:
A leader within the Biomedical Industry is in search of an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Manager within the Greater Philadelphia area. This role will consist of experience towards the final stage development, scale up, and commercialization of new and existing product lines and tooling for Polymer, Device and Natural Material COEs. They will be managing a team of Engineers and Technicians tasked with developing and/or improving current and future dsm-firmenich Biomedical materials based machinery/tooling and products/ processes.
Candidates will need Bachelors (Masters preferred) in Engineering focused on Biomedical, Mechanical, Chemical or related fields along with 7 years of experience in a highly regulated industry; preference for medical devices. Candidates will need extensive knowledge and experience working with manufacturing machinery and tooling in a medical device environment or related industry. You will need experience working with Engineering & Quality tools (Statistics, Lean Six Sigma, DFM, DOE). Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred. A PMP certification is preferred but not required with industry related experience. If you are interested please today!

responsibilities:
Provide purpose, direction, motivation, development and coaching for the Manufacturing Engineering Team to accomplish the Key Results for the business.
Cultivate a team with the expertise to identify and optimize product/ process variables required for maximizing product/ process performance at a full production scale
Cultivate a team with the expertise to conduct and/ or participate in Engineering Change Requests (ECR), Management of Change (MOC), HAZOP, Machine Safety Assessments and other review processes.
Manage investigations and improvements into manufacturing product/ processing issues, focusing on tooling/ machinery improvements and Lean Principles.
Manage continuous improvement of products/ processes to achieve improvements in productivity, yield and/or operating costs.
Manage investigation into customer complaints and non-conformances.
Provide technical support to the different technologies and help develop the capital strategy for the business.
