Financial Analyst II
Red River
Red River is seeking a Financial Analyst II to join our growing team! This position will be responsible for efforts in the FP&A Department such as financial reporting, forecasting, assisting with the annual budgeting process, and recommending actions for internal stakeholders. This position will work closely with the Accounting, Supply Chain and Sales teams, as well as cross-functional operations teams.
Primary Position Tasks:
Prepare monthly Financial Statements for the commercial business unit and present findings to the Director of FP&A
Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives
Analyze key financial information and reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision making purposes
Provide support to the FP&A team in building and maintaining various weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports
Prepare presentations for and engage with the senior management team
Improve performance by evaluating processes to drive efficiencies
Identify corrective actions needed and work with Accounting staff to ensure financial statements accurately reflect financial performance
Support Finance leadership in other analytics and ad-hoc reporting as needed
Provide ROI analysis on operating and capital expenditures.
Provide timely, relevant and accurate reporting & analysis of the results of the commercial business unit’s performance against historical, budgeted and forecasted results to facilitate decision-making toward the achievement of the budget and corporate objectives.
Minimum Education/Certification/Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Math or related discipline
5 years of applicable work experience
Preferred Education/Certification/Experience:
Strong understanding of accounting principles and 3 statement financial reporting, GAAP compliant and knowledgeable of U.S. government contracting environment
Must have extremely strong Excel skills including pivot tables, complex formulas, modeling, macros
Deltek Costpoint & Cognos experience preferred
Must be a self-motivated, energetic, critical thinker, able to work with a diverse team to problem solve and think creatively
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to relay complex information concisely
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Government Contracting experience, knowledgeable of the FAR, CAS and GAAP
Demonstrate an understanding of FP&A concepts, and principles, as well as knowledge of industry practices for reporting, planning, forecasting, and analysis
Ability to remain flexible in a constantly changing and challenging environment
Strong presence with ability to interact with Senior Leadership
Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of management and employees at other locations to maximize performance, problem solving, and results
Essential Elements :
This position requires the ability to continuously communicate with co-workers throughout the day utilizing Red River approved and/or provided communication tools and equipment.
Special Requirements:
This position requires 5% travel. Position to be primarily located in the Chantilly office.
