Protocol Liaison Specialist

Overview
Bowhead seeks a TEMPORARY Protocol Liaison Specialist tofacilitate domestic and foreign Distinguished Visitor (DV) events at the command and command leadership engagements with other Government organizations and the community, ensuring that the command is represented and portrayed in a professional manner. This position is set to end 10/29/24 with a possible 30-45 day extension.
Responsibilities
Protocol Liaison Specialists typically do the following:
Coordinate, plan, and communicate with various leaders, groups, facilities as required, including, but not limited to NAVAIR/NAWC program offices, station security and police, transportation, NCIS, and the Pass Office, as well as the offices of DVs, other military services, and embassies when foreign nationals are involved.
Perform multiple tasks requiring attention to detail and work effectively with executive level Government, military, and civilian leaders, including Congressional staffs and embassies, to ensure the success of command objectives.
Based on requirements, develop specific itineraries and agenda to include tours, briefings, meetings, courtesy calls, and participation in various ceremonies and events.
Coordinate all logistics requirements and acts as a focal point for protocol courtesies that may include, but are not limited to, arrival and departure, military honors, security, and transportation.
Provide protocol support or guidance for various ceremonies, such as changes of command, retirements, air shows, and other similar events.
Qualifications
Education: BS or BA degree in Event Planning, Marketing, Communications, or related field. Allowable Substitution: High School Diploma or GED and six (6) years of relevant experience may be substituted for BS or BA degree.
Experience: At least five (5) years of experience in a professional office environment. Must be organized and able to problem solve in high stress environments. Must be able to work within a team but also independently with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Be proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
Must have a clean driving record as individual will be responsible for driving distinguished visitors and other guests in a government vehicle.
On visits, must be able to stand for long periods of time, walk, go up and down stairs, climb into a van and drive to pickup visitors.
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold or be able to obtain a security clearance at the Top Secret/SCI level. US Citizenship is a requirement for a Top Secret/SCI clearance at this location.
Physical Demands:
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
• Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
