This opportunity resides with Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. Job Description
Mission Technologies, a division of HII is immediately seeking a highly motivated Cloud Software Engineer to join our growing team at our Hanover, MD location to lead the migration of the Minotaur software into a IL5 and IL6 cloud environment.
This position will support a mission management tool called the Minotaur Mission Processor. Minotaur ingests data from various sensors on manned and unmanned surveillance aircraft to enhance an operator’s ability to identify tracks from various on-board sensors, from both sea and land, that is utilized in all branches of the military. Ideal candidates should have strong technical skills, deep understanding of software development principles, and vast knowledge of cloud services.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Builds, designs, implements and refines cloud architectures and provides prescriptive guidance across the network and security. Leads early scoping definitions and identifies critical dependencies. Identifies and mitigates technology risks and develops architecture to support processes. Collaborates with functional business units to drive business solutions and direction. Develops and documents framework for integration and implementation of cloud systems. Understands and determines sizing, capacity planning and requirements for infrastructure, network, and security in the cloud offering.
Minimum Qualifications
5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
5 years of experience as a Cloud Architect or role with any major cloud platform
Experience developing applications using one or more programming languages (i.e. Java, Python, C, and/or similar languages)
Has previously worked extensively in a Linux environment
Experience with deploying highly scalable databases in a cloud environment considering database consistency, availability and partition tolerance
Experience working in a Kanban workflow
Must be willing to obtain a US level Secret clearance
Preferred Requirements
4 years of software development experience
5 years of experience as a Cloud Architect or role with any major cloud platform
Proficient with RHEL operating system
Experience with the different AWS services including EC2, S3, IAM, Lambda, and VPC or equivalent counterparts from other cloud providers
Strong scripting skills with languages such as Terraform and Ansible
Have an active US level Secret clearance or higher
Physical Requirements
Adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for meeting the requirements of job.
