Summary As a records management analyst, provides the full range of Records Management Services to the Social Security Administration (SSA) components including planning, coordinating, evaluating, analyzing, improving and implementing SSAs records management program and ensuring agency-wide compliance with records management regulatory requirements. Independently, or as the project lead to lower graded analysts, performs analyses of a wide variety of ongoing record keeping policies, practices, program and administrative operations to determine agency impact of existing, new… and proposed records management regulations, Federal Register publications, and agency requirements contained in the U.S. Code (U.S.C.) and National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Develops, and/or leads assigned team members in preparing essential background and implementation material to ensure SSA’s compliance with records management rules and regulations. Conducts studies and surveys consisting of headquarters and field office reviews to verify record retention policies are being followed nationwide. Provides guidance in the preparation and processing of new or revised records schedules in media neutral format, as appropriate, and takes [contd] necessary action with components to ensure compliance with approved existing agency and NARA General Records Schedules (GRS) and records management law and regulations. Independently reviews, analyzes and applies new SSA and NARA regulations, policies and procedures to assess the impact on SSA’s operations and business processes. Negotiates and coordinates agency responses with other components as needed based upon the nature, scope and impact of the records issue. Represents the agency at records management meetings and conferences and provides continuing liaison activities with NARA, SSA components and organizations outside the agency. Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate. Such IT-related experience must include at least three of the following: Experience administering records management programs; Applying pertinent laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and judicial determination related to records management programs or services; In depth knowledge of legislation, regulations, and policies governing Records and Information Management; and/or assist with development or maintenance of electronic records; help maintain record retention schedule; and support the creation of instructions on implementing records schedules.
