Surface Warfare Analyst

Sonalysts, Inc. is seeking a Surface Warfare Analyst with operational combat system experience supporting the U.S. Navy specializing in Surface Ship Combat Systems and their operational employment. The successful candidate should possess strong written and verbal communication skills, be able to think creatively and solve problems as well as collaborate effectively with senior government and military staff with little supervision.

Required Qualifications:

Former Surface Warfare Officer (SWO), Limited Duty Officer (LDO) or Chief Warrant Officer (CWO) with a minimum of 10 years US Navy Active duty experience

Must have Combat Systems experience related to Aegis Combat and Weapons Systems or Ship Self Defense System (SSDS), and Shipboard Navigation Systems

Must have experience on Surface Combatant Ships to include a deployment in support of battle group operations

Must possess an Officer of the Deck (OOD) qualification

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited academic institution

Must be a U.S. Citizen, possessing an active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET security clearance

Desired, but not required:

Demonstrated experience in any of the following areas:

Complete a tour of duty on a CVN or Amphib Class Surface Ship

Completion of ship deployment in support of battle group operations

Test and Evaluation experience

Tactics development and evaluation

Tactical Action Officer (TAO) qualification

Navy Instructor/Master Training Specialist (MTS)

Specialty fleet systems qualifications

Maintaining a U.S. Government security clearance involves periodic comprehensive background checks. Candidates are eligible for a clearance if they have demonstrated sound financial management (including good credit) over time, are free of criminal records, have limited foreign contacts or ties, and other factors indicative of a position of trust to protect information sensitive to the U.S. Government.
