Who We Are
HII Mission Technologies is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Engineering Aide to assist our engineering team in the design, development, and testing of advanced technologies. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and the ability to work collaboratively with a cross-functional team.
What You Will Do
Provides assistance to staff engineers performing routine calculations and others tasks as assigned.
Assists in obtaining information in support of assigned tasks.
Conduct research and analysis to support engineering projects
Collaborate with engineers and other team members to design and develop new products
Perform testing and evaluation of products to ensure they meet quality standards
Maintain accurate documentation of all engineering activities
Assist in the preparation of technical reports and presentations
Support the engineering team in troubleshooting and problem-solving activities
Participate in team meetings and provide input on project status and progress
Maintain a safe and organized work environment
What You Must Have
Student, High School or College Level pursuing engineering/drafting courses for future entry into a Bachelors degree program in Engineering (Mechanical, Marine Electrical, Electronics, Civil, Aerospace, Ocean, or Naval Architecture or Physical Sciences. Entry Level Position
Candidate must be proficient Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
Candidate must have excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Candidate must have ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
Candidate must have strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Candidate must be okay with the possibility of working 40 hours per week for occasional extended periods
Bonus Points For Having!
Proficiency in AutoCAD for Drafting and Design
Strong understanding of Ship design principles
Ship design experience and or training
Physical Requirements
Office, industrial or shipboard environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances. Lifting and moving of materials not to exceed the guidelines set for one man lift.
