Job Description
The Data Center Construction Safety Project Manager will be directly responsible for monitoring and refining the long-range and short-term plans to ensure success on the construction project. The Project Manager will direct and coordinate the day-to-day activities in the field, manage and coordinate the flow of information, control costs, manage and control the schedule, implement and monitor the safety programs, and verify that the completed work is constructed to a quality level consistent with the requirements of the construction documents. This role is 100% onsite in Boydton, VA and working at a live data center.
Job Responsibilities:
The Construction Manager (CM) will provide comprehensive management and oversight at every stage of the construction project, from pre-construction to closeout.
Pre-Construction Services
Review of architectural plans and specifications
Development of Bill of Materials (as needed)
Development/Coordination of a detailed project schedule
Review Method Statement of Work (MSOW)
Review Quality Control Plans
Review Safety Plans
Submission of Datacenter Access Requests (DCATs)
Construction Phase Services
On-site oversight and coordination of all construction activities
Quality control to ensure compliance with plans and specifications
Regular progress reporting to stakeholders
Post-Construction Services
Coordination of project closeout and handover
Management of warranty period services
The CM will complete the following duties and provide the following deliverables in support of those duties:
a. Review and approve detailed project schedule
b. Provide Detailed Planning and Prepare Comments for Project Execution
c. Manage Day to Day activities On Site
d. Manage in the Field Coordination between GC and Management
e. Prepare Daily and Weekly progress reports
f. Perform and Document QAQC Inspections as Owner Hold Points
g. Prepare, Review and Finalize final project closeout report
h. Plan for and Present Daily Task List for assigned projects.
i. Develop and Present GC Performance Indicators for review.
Skills:
Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, attention to detail and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and manage ones time.
Knowledge of construction industry standards and best practices.
Demonstrated ability to work with diverse team members
Surrounding team & key projects – Manage data center development of new campuses and developing the data centers for it.
Purpose of this team Landscaping a site to build data centers for Microsoft
Typical task breakdown and rhythm – Boots on the ground and working in the field position. 70% in the field and 30% in the office. Follow up on construction commissioning work and try to get all the partners resources and track their progress. Resolve all issues that come up during commissioning, problem-solving and managing deadlines.
Pay for the role is between 45/hr-90/hr

Skills and Requirements
10 years of experience within Data Center Construction
10 years of experience with construction safety roles
Bachelors Degree
Previous Experience working on Large Scale Construction Projects (Nuclear, Oil/Gas, Utilities, etc)
Previous Experience managing a Safety Program
Microsoft Suite & Microsoft Office Knowledge Previous experience working at a utility company.
Bachelor degree in electrical or industrial engineering
PMI or PMP certification preferred. null
