## Examples of Duties

The duties listed below are not all of the duties that may be assigned but are those that are considered as essential for an employee to perform.

– Perform monthly bank reconciliation, including a review and analysis of all County bank accounts.
– Participate in the investment of County funds by maintaining accurate investment trade records and recording all accrued investment earnings.
– Conduct petty cash, gift card, and police cash audits on a recurring basis, but at least annually.
– Assist in the preparation of the Countys cash flow forecast.
– Prepare monthly cash and investment reports for Finance Management.
– Prepare and submit semi-annual reports of cash and investments to the Local Government Commission.
– Prepare North Carolina Unclaimed Property Report on an annual basis. Maintain the escheat process by reviewing outstanding checks on a periodic basis.
– Assist in the completion of the Countys annual financial audit.

## Minimum Qualifications

Graduation with a Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field required.1-3 years of related experience in a related field required.

Experience in a finance/accounting role in local government may substitute the required year(s) of experience

Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a demonstrated competency to interact with people at all levels of the organization.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

– Understanding of sound business principles
– Work requires independent judgment and initiative
– Tyler Munis experience, preferred
– Data analysis

## Additional Information

Applicants with less than 5 years of applicable experience will start at 25% of the salary range.

The applicant selected must undergo a criminal background check and pass a drug screening test prior to employment.
