Overview

Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits, the preeminent distributor of beverage alcohol, is seeking a dynamic and strategic Internal Communications Manager to support and enhance communication efforts across our organization as part of the Company’s high performing and admired Corporate Communications Department. In this role, you will tap into your passion for communications to craft and deliver clear, engaging, and impactful communications that align with our company’s vision, values and business goals. You will also play a key role in guiding employees on internal communications policies, ensuring consistency and effectiveness across all levels of the organization.

Primary Responsibilities

Develop and Execute Communication Strategies: Create and manage internal communication plans that align with our business objectives, ensuring messages are consistent, timely, and engaging across all internal channels. Counsel internal clients on best practices and channels.

Content Creation and Management: Develop content for a range of platforms, including intranet, email newsletters, videos, and internal meetings, ensuring the tone and voice reflect our company’s culture and values. Maintain quality control, branding standards, and handle proofing of all materials – attention to detail at every stage of production is essential. Work with internal graphic design resources as needed.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with HR, IT, Commercial, Digital, and other functional department/market leaders to align messaging, enhance employee engagement, and drive a unified internal culture. Assist with managing calendar of key communications to ensure consistent, relevant and timely delivery of internal communication material and to avoid message conflicts. Liaise with and collaborate with the External Communications & Corporate Social Responsibility team as needed.

Employee Engagement Communications: Support communications initiatives that promote employee engagement, recognition, and a positive work environment, while reinforcing company values and goals.

Additional Primary Responsibilities

Communications Governance Oversight and Training: Oversee and monitor internal communication policies. Provide training and guidance to employees to ensure understanding and adherence to best practices in communications and information sharing.

Tailored Communication for Non-Wired Employees: Design and implement tailored communication programs to reach the Company’s non-wired frontline employee population to ensure all employees feel informed and connected.

Vendor Relationship Management: Maintain strong working relationships with communications technology vendors. Collaborate to address any technical issues that arise promptly.

Metrics and Analytics: Measure and report on the effectiveness of internal communication strategies, using analytics to continuously improve messaging and delivery methods.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in communications, public relations, marketing or related field, plus 3 to 5 years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Proven experience in internal/employee communications within a large organization, with a focus on reaching diverse, dispersed employee populations.

Strong writing, editing, and content development skills across various channels.

Experience with digital communication tools and platforms, including mobile communication apps, intranets, and employee engagement platforms.

Light technology (SharePoint, HTML) skills preferred

Knowledge of other MS Office Suite and/or software applications related to job functions

Physical Demands

Physical demands include a considerable amount of time sitting and typing/keyboarding, using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor), or mobile device

Physical demands with activity or condition may occasionally include walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stooping

May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20lbs
