20243 – System Administrator II

Location – Miami, FL

PURPOSE

The System Admin II plays a crucial role in maintaining the smooth operation of our organization’s IT infrastructure. Responsibilities include troubleshooting network, hardware, and software issues to ensure optimal performance of network systems, servers, workstations, and peripheral devices. The system admin provides both direct and remote support, maintaining strong communication with end users. This role involves collaborating closely with the Affiliate IT Manager and other system admins participating in IT projects related to infrastructure, networking, servers, and security. Additional duties include monitoring network and security tools, managing patches, ensuring data protection, and addressing vulnerabilities. The system admin will also support various IT operations as required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Technical Skills (75%)

Diagnose and resolve issues related to network, hardware, and software to ensure minimal downtime and disruption.

Provide direct and remote technical support to end users, maintaining clear and effective communication throughout the resolution process.

Work closely with the Senior IT Systems Analyst on IT projects involving infrastructure, networking, servers, and security.

Monitor network performance and security tools, addressing any anomalies or issues proactively.

Ensure all computers, servers, and network devices are regularly patched and updated according to company policies.

Install, configure, maintain, and support PC and printer hardware and software within the company’s computing environment.

Maintain detailed records of support activities and provide regular updates to the IT team.

Perform other IT operations duties as required, ensuring the smooth functioning of the organization’s IT systems.

Manage assigned tasks and quickly respond to and process Windows helpdesk tickets using ServiceNow in a timely and reliable manner                                                                                                

Support Help Desk personnel and Administrators as required                                     

Install, maintain, and configure Windows Servers, Active Directory, MS Exchange email, File & Print servers, DNS, DHCP, etc.  

Proficient in managing AD users, groups, and policies, configuring and troubleshooting Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and implementing role-based access control (RBAC) to ensure secure and appropriate access to resources.    

Experience with data encryption, data loss prevention (DLP) tools, and managing backups. Knowledge of Disaster recovery procedures and experience with monitoring and logging systems for timely security incident responses.                                                                                     

Perform backup and restores of Exchange and all Windows servers                                                                                                                                                

Detect, diagnose and troubleshoot server malfunctions                                                                                                                  

Provide all aspects of user account management

Maintain current inventory of all Windows assets, purchase history and warranty data

Experience with Spam Filters, Message Tracking and Whitelisting                 

Monitor and analyze network traffic statistics to identify performance issues

Monitor and upgrade Windows servers.

Other Duties as required                     

Project Management (25%)

Administer a large portfolio of projects, tasks, issues and systems

Administer projects from initial requirement stage on through completion stage, ensuring appropriate documentation and completion

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology majors preferred

At least 5-6 years of experience as primary administrator for Server and Network Infrastructure

Ability to think logically and to analyze issues and implement appropriate solutions.

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Ability to plan, organize, coordinate work assignments.

Ability to complete projects on time.

Ability to work well in a team environment.                                                    

Ability to interact positively with internal and external customers.

MCSE – Core Infrastructure Certification preferred

Cisco Network Certified Engineer preferred

Salary Range – $70,000 to $85,000
