Job Title: E ndoscopy / Gastroenterologist technician

Description:

Prepare room for endoscopy procedures.

Communicate with physicians regarding patient vitals.

Take and monitor patient vital signs, perform data entry, and maintain a sterile environment.

Escort patients and families, assisting with check-in as needed.

Safely deliver endoscopes to and from the procedure room.

Collect, label, and send specimens with the correct paperwork from the procedure room.

Assist the scope team with the removal of cleaned scopes as needed.

Reprocess and clean equipment.

Sterilize equipment after procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

High school graduate or equivalent.

Completion of a medical assistant, endoscopy technician, or surgical technician training program required.

Experience working in a Gastroenterology or Internal Medicine clinic (adolescent, adult, and/or geriatric patient population as specialty assignment dictates).

At least one year of patient care or equipment maintenance experience.

Demonstrates knowledge and skills to provide care, maintain clinical competency, and meet patient population needs within the clinic.
