What does our Internship Program offer?
Keys Enterprise Internship is a 10.5-week program that provides meaningful work that matters, offers feedback and coaching, and creates engaging events and conversations that will spark excitement and interest in bringing ones full-time career to Key post college.
Interns are involved in a host of line of business specific projects that directly impact and benefit Keys business and strategic pillars. The program includes networking with Key teammates across all levels of the organization, a series of Learning Labs where internal and external speakers provide insight on Keys competitive landscape, financial wellness, and professional development best practices, and an assigned mentor who shares knowledge, experience, and advice.
Key Investment Services
Key Investment Services LLC (KIS) is a FINRA registered broker / dealer, SEC registered investment advisory firm and partners with KeyCorp Insurance Agency USA Inc., a licensed insurance agency. KIS provides investment guidance, planning services, investment and insurance products to Keys mass and mass affluent customer base. We help customers plan for retirement, educate their families, save on taxes, and pass wealth from one generation to the next.
About the Key Investment Services Internship Program
KIS will introduce you to all aspects of the retail investment industry operating from a retail bank. This will include partnering with one of Private Client Advisors during the summer in one of our branches across the country. A full 10-week curriculum will expose you to experience of being of Financial Advisor. Details are list in the responsibilities and curriculum below. Opportunity to obtain the Securities Industry Essentials license (SIE) during the internship.
Job Responsibilities
KIS interns will be partnered with a KIS PCA
Interns will be introduced to a variety of skills and competencies:
Client Discovery
Case studies
Financial Planning – data entry and analysis
Client meeting observations
Basic administrative work
Client relationship skills
Interpersonal communication
Retail partnerships
Additional Curriculum and Development
Interns will participate in a series of weekly trainings, including:
PCA Job Shadowing
Market and regional meetings
Case study interpretation & analysis – Regional Director of Financial Planning
Economic & Investment Trends – Chief Investment Office
Qualifications
Graduating with a four-year degree or graduate level degree by May 2026 with focused coursework in finance, accounting, economics and/or data science (preferred)
Individuals pursuing a career as a Financial Advisor and are participating in the CFP program in their education and will complete CFP exam prior to graduation.
Outstanding academic achievement (minimum 3.0 GPA)
Demonstrated leadership and teamwork from past work experience and/or extracurricular activities
Bring solid analytical, problem solving, communication and presentation skills
Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
Compensation and Benefits
This position is eligible to earn an hourly rate of $21 per hour. Compensation also includes a $1,000.00 Summer Internship Sign-on Bonus.
