Job Description:
L3Harris Space & Sensors is looking for a Systems Engineering Lead with significant expertise in electronic systems. The Integration & Test Engineer will design, develop, integrate, test, deliver, and support systems and sub-systems as part of the larger systems engineering and project team.
Essential Functions:
Understand the program level objectives, system concept of operation, and product architectures to determine and develop the electronic system/sub-system requirements, methods, and solutions.
As part of a team, design systems and sub-systems to meet customer requirements.
Perform hardware/software integration and development testing to prove out the designs.
Plan, coordinate, and execute requirements verification/validation activities and work with the test group to ensure customer requirements are fully met and verified.
Present and participate within engineering review boards to improve overall quality and eliminate design defects early in the development lifecycle.
Lead and mentor team members throughout the systems engineering process.
Possess strong verbal and written communication skills through the preparation and presentation of technical reviews and program status reviews.
Ability to obtain a DoD clearance which requires US Citizenship
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Computer or related Engineering discipline with a minimum of 9 years of systems engineering and electronic design experience or Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years prior systems engineering and electronic design experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior systems engineering and electronic design experience.
A significant portion of the required experience/education should be specific to GPS and/or RF systems integration and test.
Strong systems engineering and electronics background.
Ability/experience developing requirements architecture and verification plans for complicated electrical systems.
Experience testing electronic systems in a lab setting.
Experience with generating Test Requirements Documents (TRDs), Test Procedures, and Test reports.
Broad knowledge of electrical engineering disciplines with hands-on experience.
Must be a US Citizen
Preferred Additional Skills:
Proven experience architecting and managing system level requirements in DOORs or similar requirements management software.
Proficient in electronic system design, development, and troubleshooting.
Prior experience using National Instruments hardware platforms and electronic test equipment
Prior experience designing and developing electrical circuits, schematics, and layouts is a plus.
Prior experience with communications systems and/or communication protocols. eg. RS232, 1553, RS422, Ethernet.
Aerospace / Defense industry experience is preferred.
Active DoD Security clearance
