What Youll Do:
Are you ready to take charge and lead a dynamic team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment?
Serta Simmons Bedding is seeking a passionate and experienced Production Manager to oversee our operations in Monroe, OH.
How Youll Do It:
Lead Manufacturing Production: Ensure quality products are produced safely, on time, and within budget.
Drive Continuous Improvement: Implement Lean methodologies to enhance performance, safety, and quality.
Ensure Safety: Oversee the safety of operators and individuals in the work area.
Maintain Product Quality: Adhere to processes and collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers, Quality Engineers, and Key Process Owners to meet or exceed quality standards.
Achieve Performance Metrics: Deliver outstanding results in on-time delivery (over 99.5%) and efficiency (over 95%) by guiding teams through problem-solving and effective communication with supply chain partners.
Conduct Daily Meetings: Hold production meetings to set daily expectations and goals.
Coordinate with Office Staff: Provide updates on scheduled deliveries and product status; maintain information for daily management reports and prepare additional reports as needed.
Control Production Costs: Ensure cost-effectiveness by managing raw material usage and labor schedules to minimize waste, excess hours, and downtime.
Implement Lean Processes: Maintain Lean practices, problem-solving initiatives, and Kaizen methodologies with support personnel.
Escalate Issues Promptly: Address unresolved issues swiftly to maintain performance, quality, and safety standards.
Lead and Motivate Teams: Develop team members skills and knowledge while encouraging excellence; meet training and development objectives for all team members.
What Youll Bring:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business or Technical field (4-year degree) with 3-5 years of leadership experience in a high mix, complex manufacturing environment; or
Associate’s degree with an Engineering/Technical focus (2-year degree) and 5-15 years of leadership experience, demonstrating clear career progression; or
Extensive supervisory experience in heavy manufacturing (non-degreed candidates) with 15 years or more of leadership experience.
Active Work Environment:
Work is physically active, requiring frequent walking throughout the manufacturing plant, warehouse, and distribution areas.
Safety Management:
High degree of risk management concerning safety around large and complex machinery and handling heavy products (up to 200 lbs) during production.
Travel Requirements:
Up to 10% travel may be required.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to where legally required, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
