Voyatek is seeking applicants to occupy the position of Expert Software Developer our NYS Office for People with Developmental Disabilities Team located in Schenectady, NY.

Key Responsibilities:

This position maintains several OPWDD Java web applications including Division of Quality Improvement (DQIA) and SEMP applications. In addition, all new work involving design, development, testing and implementation of an application throughout the System Development Life Cycle. The position also supports enterprise projects as needed and provides training and mentoring to lesser experienced developers.

Responsibilities include:

  • Design and create scripts for databases,
  • Design, develop, maintain and enhance Java applications,
  • Test applications
  • Create and maintain documentation
  • Assist with implementation and ITSM incidents.

Experience Required:

84 Months: Candidate is able to provide guidance to large teams and/or has extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field.

  • 84 months experience programming server-side Java web applications in a multi-tier environment using JDK 1.5 or higher.
  • 60 months experience writing queries, stored procedures, functions, packages, and triggers in Oracle 10g or higher.
  • 48 months development experience in database design and object creation/modification of databases consisting of 20 or more tables in Oracle 10g or higher.

Desired Qualifications:

  • 48 months programming experience with Java Server Faces.
  • 36 months programming experience with Java Persistence API.
  • 36 months experience with JavaScript/JQuery.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. This includes, but is not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and geographic location. At Voyatek, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current hourly range is $53.00 and $63.00
