Hourly Rate: $20.94

Job Responsibilities:
Receive, review and verify vendor invoices and billings.
Properly code and enter invoices for payment into accounting system.
Ensures invoices are properly approved for payment by authorized personnel.
Reviews and checks invoices and vendor payments for accuracy.
Prepare and process payments including checks and electronic transfers to vendors.
Ensure timely payment to vendors in accordance with agreed-upon terms and BOCES policy.
Serve as point of contact for vendors regarding invoices, payments and account status.
Maintain and update vendor accounts, including contacts.
Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and BOCES policies.
Assists with periodic closing processes, including year-end reconciliations.
Documents processes and procedures to ensure consistent and accurate processing of financial transactions.
Assists in training of other team members on critical functions; thereby ensuring departmental effectiveness.
Assists team members by sharing information and assisting during times of high volume, absences, and in meeting deadlines.

Job Qualifications
Minimum Civil Service Qualifications:
Must hold permanent status as a Senior Account Clerk, OR; Must be reachable on the current Senior Account Clerk civil service list, OR; Must meet minimum civil service qualifications for a provisional appointment as follows:
A) Graduation from a regionally accredited or NYS registered two (2) year college or university with an Associates Degree in Accounting or Business and one (1) year experience in the maintaining of financial records; OR;
B) Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and three (3) years experience in the compilation and maintenance of financial records; O R;
C) Seven (7) years experience in the compilation and maintenance of financial records; OR;
D) An equal combination of training and experience as defined by the limit of (A), (B) and (C).
