Responsibilities First Shift – $19.50 POSITION SUMMARY: The purpose of the Mixer Operator is to set up the mixing room, to direct proper liquid egg flow to the holding tanks, and to ensure the proper mix of egg product and ingredients determined by customer formulas and specifications. Employees, customers, and consumers benefit from the work of the mixer operator by having an excellent tasting, safe, high quality product made available to them in a timely manner. This person must take the initiative to maintain a safe, quality product; is responsible for the work area, keeping it clean and as bacteria free as possible during production hours, ensuring that product is not mixed with foreign matter. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Set up the mixing room and ensure the correct formulation of liquid egg product and ingredients using the pre-determined procedures approved by the company. Ensure accuracy and quality of the individual batches to be mixed and transferred to the proper holding tank. Set up for each line running ensuring there is a continuous flow of product to each line and that it will run out at the correct time. Ensure accurate transfer of liquid egg product from the Breaking Department to the Pre-Cooked Department and complete associated documentation. Record appropriate LOT or batch numbers, ph, and egg usage on the batch sheets and egg usage forms to meet Quality Assurance specifications. Maintain scales and meters as needed to get as precise and accurate readings as possible. Have thorough knowledge of the Clean in Place (CIP) system in order to use it at the appropriate time. Oversees the operation of the Emulsifier and assists in re-work and/or recycle production. Assist in the general good housekeeping of the area. Determine if product mix meets proper specifications or not and take corrective action as needed. Train new mixers. Work as a Team member. Maintenance reliability line walks in Red Zone. Doing all required checks in Red Zone, understanding the value and benefits of Red Zone. Being able to send pasteurized egg from the Tanker Bay to Precooked when Tanker Bay personnel is unavailable. Expected to adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP and HACCP guidelines, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained in order to maintain SQF certification. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups, customers/vendors or employees of the organization. Good reading and writing skills with the ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work well with others and have good communication skills. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. safely. Ability to travel stairs. The ability to occasionally lift 80 lbs. safely Follow Lock Out/Tag Out and Confined Space Entry procedures Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) and Safety regulations and wear the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) the for the area Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to obtain Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) certification PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: Ability to work independently, learn quickly, and be self-motivated Ability to travel stairs. Wear the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the job. Learn Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) and Confined Space Entry procedures.
