Job Description
BAE Systems is looking for an Electronic Specialist to join our team supporting the GEODSS mission on Haleakal Summit in Maui, HI. The team at Haleakal Summit provides 24/7/365 operations and maintenance support for the Ground-Based Electro-Optical Deep Space Surveillance System (GEODSS) for the 20th Space Control Squadron. GEODSS mission is to detect, track, and identify all tasked space objects within its area of coverage. The site is equipped with three independently operating telescopes. GEODSS data is channeled to a command and control node responsible for the Space Force s Space Domain Awareness (SDA) mission.
Job Summary:
Responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and operation of GEODSS mission equipment. Requiring proficiency in the ability to utilize technical order documentation to diagnose, maintain, repair and operate complex electro-optical and electro-mechanical equipment Additionally provides on-site organizational and intermediate level maintenance of communications equipment. Shift work is required to provide operations and support on a 24/7 basis. Installs, troubleshoots, repairs, aligns and operates electro-optical, computers, communications and data systems.
Responsibilities:
Upkeep all required documentation including technical orders, log maintenance and operational activities.
Establish proficiency in identifying system electronic components and circuits to troubleshoot and utilize the supply system to acquire replacement parts. Possess thorough knowledge of site operations, instrumentation capabilities and limitations.
Prepares written operating instructions and reports as required.
Provide real time reporting on multiple venues in accordance to established standards.
Full-Time Salary Range: $77,482 – $86,091

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
2 years applicable experience as an electronic technician
High school diploma or GED. Must be an electronic technical school graduate or have equivalent electronics training and experience. An associate s degree or equivalent military service is desired.
Experience with USSF sensor operations and maintenance or other service equivalency is desirable.
Pay Information
This position is covered under a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), which will determine your wages.
