The Healthcare Risk Analyst is responsible for auditing all healthcare and school-based professional match-end reasons with the objective of identifying any legal or clinical risks, as defined by legal and their clinical risk manager, for investigation. The Healthcare Risk Analyst will also be responsible for leading and conducting their own caseload of investigations. The Healthcare Risk Analyst role plays a critical part in identifying risks, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and promoting continuous improvement in staff performance. The Healthcare Risk Analyst will work closely with the legal, risk management, and compliance teams to ensure all findings are addressed in a timely and thorough manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Audits all reported match-end reasons focusing on safety concerns related to students and patients

Initiates investigations stemming from qualifying match-end reasons

Intakes, investigates, and resolves non-privileged incidents and grievances

Assists the Clinical Risk Manager as needed to ensure the maintenance of analytic validity, data accuracy, patient safety, clinical best practices, regulatory initiatives, and data submissions

Assists in developing and implementing internal risk management policy and procedure to ensure compliance with all Joint Commission standards

Triages incoming correspondence to Amergis’ Legal department on matters including, but not limited to, adverse patient events or incidents for any business line

Serves as a liaison to the risk management department and, where applicable, serves as support to the Clinical Risk Manager for comprehensive staffing opportunities

Coordinates with internal teams such as compliance, legal, and risk management to ensure comprehensive investigations and audits

Assists in developing and implementing investigatory procedure and processes as necessary

Provides insight and feedback to internal teams based on investigations, assisting in the development of training programs to mitigate future risks

Performs other related duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

College Degree required. Bachelor’s degree in nursing, healthcare administration, risk management, or a related field preferred

Three to five (3-5) years in clinical, healthcare compliance, or investigative roles, preferably within a healthcare staffing or related environment

Experience with investigations and interviewing personnel in the context of patient and student safety events preferred

Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough and efficient investigations (interviewing witnesses, collecting and analyzing evidence, reaching logical conclusions, and preparing clear investigative reports)

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Excellent organizational, written and verbal skills, with the ability to quickly analyze issues and craft practical, business-oriented solutions

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Ability to consistently meet deadlines with high-quality work product in a fast-paced environment

Ability to interact and communicate effectively with all areas and levels of the organization and outside counsel

Ability to use judgment, tact, and discretion

Proficiency in all Microsoft office programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required

Ability to interact effectively with all areas and levels of the organization
