Job Introduction

As part of a Marketing and Communication organization modernization and transformation project, a new MarComms Operation function is being established, it will sit within the Marketing organization but is designed to assist for Marketing and Communication teams. This role presents an excellent opportunity to help in creating and defining the future in how to get work done differently.

 

Job Summary

The Senior Manager, MarComms Operations plays a vital role in enabling the goals of the Marketing and Communication teams and is responsible for the success and leadership of the MarComms Operations function.

 

The MarComms Operations function purpose is to develop a team that operates with greater efficiency, scalability, and adaptability, designed to foster transformative initiatives with the end goal of driving business growth. It is critical to improving performance, operational efficiency and standardizing innovative processes and tools.

 

Within the MarComms Operations function there is a Creative Services team responsible for the production of assets and materials, such as design, content and digital creation and management. This is a versatile team powered by operational systems, automation and AI and a mix of resources including FTE, contractors, outsource. In addition, a Digital Centre of Excellence team to navigate the complexities of the digital landscape and effectively connect with our audiences. This team has specialized capability to prioritize digital growth initiatives focused on enablement and empowerment to accelerate adoption of digital best practices that will drive operational excellence and is not distracted by business-as-usual activities.

 

You will be a trusted subject matter expert and advisor with strong leadership, strategic thinking skills, exceptional collaboration and communication skills and a change champion with a passion for continuous improvement, innovation and transforming the way work gets done.

 

Responsibilities

Develop a clear understanding of the overall business goals to set departmental strategy and objectives to ensure alignment, develop and execute strategies for improving operational efficiency and identify new innovation and transformation opportunities..

Set the key success indicators to define and successfully manage operations capabilities

Gather and analyze data from various sources to make data-driven decisions and optimize operations.

Demonstrate leadership qualities to inspire, motivate and develop team members, provide strategic direction, guidance, mentorship, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and drive efficiencies through effective communication and team management.

Oversee the management of relationships with external vendors, such as creative services providers and digital agency. This includes contract negotiation, performance evaluation, and ensuring deliverables meet expectations and objectives.

Oversee the allocation of resources, including FTE, contractors, vendors, technology and tools.

Manage and track the MarComms budget, analyze budgetary needs, allocate resources effectively, and identify areas for cost savings without compromising on the quality and effectiveness of function area.

Provide guidance, expertise and support to various projects or initiatives across the Marketing and Communication teams to solve problems or address specific challenges.

Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including executive leadership, partners, and external agencies, to drive strategic initiatives and foster collaboration.

Build strong working relationships with team members and collaborators across the organization to ensure alignment and coordination of marketing and communication efforts.

Be a brand advocate.

Have an understanding and passion for getting work done differently via AI, partner strategies, offshoring and automation.

Design, develop and implement processes and workflows that enable the teams to execute their daily tasks efficiently, curating and integrating the best applications and technologies to support each step in the process. This will include analyzing current workflows and processes to remediate bottlenecks and pain points including the intake process to make it easier and faster for the users to request and receive the services.

Ongoing optimization of processes, infrastructure and team efforts by improving their efficiency, ROI effectiveness and scalability and speed of delivery in achieving business objectives.

Use change management best practices to reduce the impact of new ways of working across the team.

Lead the development of a marcomms technology roadmap and capabilities and vendor/partner selection with stakeholders.

Leverage and integrate technology and tools to streamline processes, automate repetitive tasks, and improve collaboration.

Take ownership and lead the project to implement Monday.com as the collaboration tool.

Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies and best practices in operations management, implementing innovative approaches and enhancing efficiency and effectiveness.

Be adaptable. Embrace change and be willing to adapt your strategies and processes to meet evolving business needs.

Qualifications

10 years of similar experience (marketing or communications field in a global organization including transforming and leading large teams).

Strong strategic thinking skills.

Strong creative, organizational, problem-solving and time-management skills.

Strong project management skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

Demonstrable ability to optimize and improve processes.

Proficiency in data analysis.

Demonstrable ability to leverage technology and tools to streamline processes, automate repetitive tasks, and improve collaboration.

Strong financial acumen.

A strong desire for continuous learning.

Experience in leading cross-functional teams and working with agile methodologies.

Technical aptitude, proven creative thinking and experience with tools and software including automation platforms, content management systems, project management tools such as: HubSpot’s marketing suite, Simpplr, Sitecore, Trello, etc.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior-level executives.

Comfortable in a fast-paced environment that values creativity, self-motivation, candor, reliability and accountability.

People-oriented, strong relationship building skills.

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

Leadership skills and the ability to motivate and inspire a team.

Change management experience desirable.

Ability to travel up to 10% of the calendar year.

Compensation

 

Per Pay Transparency Acts: The range for this position is $100,000- $135,000 bonus potential of up to $14,000.
