The Water Quality Program within the Department of Ecology is looking to fill a Municipal Facility Management Engineer (Environmental Engineer 2) position. This position is located in our Northwest Region Office (NWRO) in [Shoreline, WA](https://www.shorelinewa.gov/){rel=”nofollow”}. Upon hire, you must live within a commutable distance from the duty station.

Please Note: The salary posted above includes the additional 5% premium pay that this position will receive due to its location in [Shoreline, WA](https://www.shorelinewa.gov/){rel=”nofollow”} in King County.  

We want you to join our team of engineers and scientists dedicated to responsible development and thoughtful management of critical wastewater and reclaimed water infrastructure! Working under the direct supervision of a licensed Professional Engineer, you will make vital contributions to the regulation, planning, design, and construction of wastewater treatment and water reclamation facilities in northwest Washington (King, Snohomish, Kitsap, Skagit, Island, Whatcom, and San Juan counties).
 
You will help to protect water quality in the region by developing wastewater discharge permits, reviewing engineering documents for domestic wastewater facilities, providing engineering oversight of infrastructure projects that receive financial assistance, and participating in inspections and enforcement activities.
 
The work you will do helps ensure that critical wastewater infrastructure projects in the Northwest Region are properly designed to meet state and federal requirements. You will also provide technical guidance to help dischargers understand and meet state water quality rules and laws and improve operation of their facilities. By building collaborative relationships and serving as a trusted and dependable resource for technical questions, you will make a meaningful contribution to the protection Washingtons natural resources.
