Sr. Research Program Coordinator

The Center for Injury Research and Policy at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health is seeking a Sr. Research Program Coordinator to provide extensive research support, coordination, and day-to-day oversight for multiple home injury prevention studies.

This is a full-time, hybrid (2 days a week in the office) post based in Baltimore.

The Sr. Research Program Coordinator will be responsible for managing multiple Research Projects including 1) a HUD funded project which aims to reduce home injuries in older adults and 2) a FEMA funded project which aims to provide education and distribute smoke alarms across the county to tribal partners. This Sr. Research Program Coordinator will be responsible for the coordination of efforts among multiple faculty and external partners. We are seeking a highly skilled professional with strong attention deadlines, and goals. The successful candidate will be committed to helping the organization stay on schedule and coordinated across multiple projects and grant applications.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

Oversee multiple activities across various projects, ensuring project goals and objectives are reached, and multiple components are integrated.

Track and manage multiple projects and project-related issues simultaneously.

Support primary investigator in planning, including scoping projects, defining deliverables developing work plans, and budgets monitoring.

Prepare grant reports and adhere to reporting deadlines for external funders.

Prepare IRB protocols and amendments.

Maintain a system for organizing and tracking research projects and activities and deliverables.

Create and manage accurate project timelines to accomplish project goals and milestones.

Coordinate with the University communications team to disseminate research products.

Develop standard operating procedures and data collection forms from protocol(s).

Participate in meetings to provide operational updates, report on any operational issues, and may make recommendations for resolutions to new/outstanding operational issues.

Coordinating meetings, which may include assisting in developing an agenda and coordinating information and/or participation of individuals from other institutions and/or universities.

Development and implementation of study recruitment protocols that are practical and efficient.

Manage shared files, and email listservs.

Study coordination, including hiring and supervision of graduate and undergraduate students.

Oversee day-to-day activities of student research assistants.

Recommend changes to protocol operations based on results and goals.

Assist in drafting technical and progress/final reports to the funder.

Other duties as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in related discipline.

Three years related experience.

Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in injury and violence prevention.

Experience working on community-based projects.

Experience in research and education environments providing project and/or program management preferred.

Excellent project management skills including scheduling, critical thinking, task management, and personal organization.

Excellent communication skills, including the ability to listen and effectively synthesize information from subject matter experts; the ability to write and present clearly and concisely; and the ability to facilitate effective meetings and engage participants.

Experience with using management, communications, and file storage tools such as Wrike, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint for monitoring the progress of large and complex projects and teams.

Team-oriented approach and ability to cultivate positive and collegial workplace relationships.

Dependability and attention to detail.

An ability to work independently while engaging colleagues and supervisors at strategic or key moments.

Experience with compiling an Institutional Review Board (IRB) application.

Experience managing research projects.

Excellent organizational skills required.

Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities.

Knowledge of basic statistics.

Knowledge of qualitative analysis methodologies.

Experience working on a diverse team.

Experience working with different communication styles.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and demonstrate an ability to adapt to the needs of a diverse and high-paced research environment quickly and comfortably.

Open communication, sharing of expertise and ideas, and the ability to take direction and respond positively to feedback.

Good oral and written communication and reading comprehension skills, be comfortable using technology (e.g., computers, laptops, tablets, copier, printer) and with Office programs.

Experience with Grant writing.

Starting Salary Range: $41,300 – $72,300 Annually ($60,000 targeted; Commensurate with experience)
