Description/Job Summary

Manages one or more subordinate positions (Foreman, Laborer) and/or subcontractors. Is responsible for assisting in the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of on-site project activities. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance of employees and subcontractors on project; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Responsibilities/Duties

Assists the Project Superintendent with overseeing site operations to ensure that production goals and objectives of the project are accomplished safely, within the prescribed time frame and budget, and to the satisfaction of the contractual requirements by performing duties personally. In the performance of these functions, it is the Assistant Superintendents responsibility to protect and promote T. A. Loving Companys interests in all matters and to do what is reasonably necessary to discharge his/her duties which include, but are not necessarily limited to:

Develops and maintains a good working relationship with clients, inspectors, material suppliers and subcontractors.

Manages the on-site personnel of subcontractors, material suppliers, and T. A. Loving field personnel in a manner that facilitates the efficient and safe completion of project work activities.

Assist the Project Manager and Superintendent in developing the project schedule based on the type of work and the necessary crews, equipment, and subcontractors needed.

Responsible for short term scheduling of specific areas or specific scopes of work as directed by the Superintendent.

Works with Superintendent to create, enforce and back-check punch lists.

In conjunction with the Project Superintendent, gathers and provides data necessary to accurately update project schedules.

Studies project plans and specifications to establish a plan for construction procedures and logistics necessary to complete project in the required time established in the contract documents and under the established budget.

Assists with coordinating daily activities of subordinate positions, subcontractors, and material suppliers.

Responsible for ordering and delivery of necessary tools, equipment, and materials at required times for work schedule.

Inspects work daily to verify quality of work completed and that it meets requirements of contract documents and is being completed in adherence with contract schedule.

Completes necessary daily and safety reports for project as required by company policy and contract documents.

Assists the Project Superintendent in reviewing and approving invoices from subcontractors and material suppliers.

Track subcontractor manpower counts and document in daily reports.

Understands project budget, specifically for activities under his/her care.

Proactively researches documents to find and eliminate coordination issues.

Works closely with project staff and subcontractors to track material lead times.

Responsible for monitoring work practices and compliance with company safety policies and procedures.

Ensure that assigned projects are kept clean and orderly.

Required Qualifications

Education/Experience: High School Diploma or GED and three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Licensing/Certification: Must maintain a valid driver license and good driving record. OSHA Training courses as required by the company safety procedures.
