Responsibilities Serving as a Fleet Manager GS-2150-13/14 makes you a valuable member of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) team and mission. This position is located in the Mobile Assets Branch within Training Support Division under Mission and Readiness Support Directorate located in Glynco, Georgia. Typical duties include: Represents FLETCs interests and provides recommendations to DHS on fleet operations and energy issues as part of various headquarters level commodity councils and working groups to include the DHS Motor Vehicle Fleet Management Council, Government Fleet Managers Steering Committee, FedFleet Policy Council, and DHS Bulk Fuel Working Group. Plans, schedules, coordinates, implements, directs, and supervises work operations. Directly supervises the FMO workforce. Position oversees the maintaining of accurate electronic databases for all mobile assets to include a myriad of fleet-related factors, such as number and location of mobile vehicles and associated equipment on hand, vehicle identification numbers, acquisition costs, purchase orders, contracts, mileage used, fuel and fluids consumption, maintenance and repair costs, and the status of vehicles and equipment undergoing repair. To qualify at the GS-13, you must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the federal service coordinating and leading the operation, utilization, maintenance, inspection, and inventory control of a vehicle fleet consisting of wheeled and marine mobile assets. To qualify at the GS-14, you must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the federal service for planning, directing, coordinating, and supervising the administration, operation, utilization, maintenance, inspection, and inventory control of a vehicle fleet consisting of wheeled and marine mobile assets. All requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement. Work Environment: The work involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting rooms, classrooms, etc. On occasion, there is the need to vary work locations or schedules. In such cases, the project or assignment would dictate the work environment. Physical Demands: The duties are primarily performed in an office setting. The position must, however, be mobile in order to effectively monitor and evaluate the performance of his or her subordinates. This may require considerable standing, walking, and vehicle operation. In addition, annual site visits to all TDPs may be scheduled with the respective leadership and diverse customer bases in order to determine the health of the Mobile Assets Program. Education Additional Information This position may be filled at the GS-13 or GS-14 level. If selection is made at the GS-13 level, promotion to the GS-14 level may occur without further competition.
