The Sr. Marketing Manager will support global platform growth strategy through execution of innovation and expansion activities. This position reports to the Associate Marketing Director and is responsible for identifying unmet needs through the voice of thecustomer, building out market assessments and strategic plans, and leading upstream activities through collaboration with cross-functional New Product Development (NPD) teams.
Essential Duties and Position Responsibilities
Voice of customer activities to identify and understand unmet needs across a variety of surgical specialties (including current markets and new adjacent spaces)
Market research to inform assessment of global market opportunities, product concepts, and clinical and economic value propositions
Commercial leadership of assigned innovation and NPD programs
Cross-functional collaboration to build out comprehensive product assessment plans, including:
Financial modeling to project revenue and profit
Regulatory pathway
Market access and commercial strategies
Clinical and economic evidence generation
New product development plans
US and international commercial strategy
Presentations to key stakeholders at Innovation Council, PDT, and other forums
Actively encourage and support a positive culture across teams
Other activities as assigned by ARR leadership
Key relationships include:
Internal Relationships:
All platform/department members as appropriate
External Relationships:
All customers in surgical market including but not limited to surgeons, administrators, vendors, societies
Scope and Impact of Position
Build relationship with and know key customers across surgical specialties and hospital functions
Identify and quantify market and product opportunities
Interface with all involved disciplines
Lead project teams indirectly or directly
Communicate with domestic sales force and global marketing entities
Communicate market trends to platform team, BU management and internal teams
Develop and implement strategic marketing plans
Participate in or lead the development and execution of mid-to-long-term strategic planning
Forecast long-term revenue projections by market
Manage budget
Conduct presentations to cross-functional teams, platform and BU management, and others
Lead preparation of business plans
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills Required
Bachelor’s Degree (business or engineering discipline preferred)
Minimum of 5 years marketing or NPD experience in medical device industry preferred
Demonstrated strategic agility and analytical mindset
Experience managing commercial or NPD budgets
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Strong team contributor with demonstrated leadership capabilities
Strong results orientation
Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines in an environment of competing priorities. Proven ability to work in high-paced environment and routinely work on multiple tasks with multiple people while effectively prioritizing
Ability to travel domestically and internationally (up to 25%) and flexibility to accommodate different time zones
