Carpenter / Metal Stud Framer

PeopleReady, Skilled Trades is looking for an experienced Carpenters / Metal Stud Framer for several Commercial projects in Elgin, IL. The ideal candidate will be a Journeyman with at least 5 years experience in the field. Individuals with this talent must be a self starter, know how to read blueprints and have carpentry tools. Note: The pay rate for this job is $28 – $30 / hour.

Responsibilities:

Reading design plans in order to provide minimal wallboard to avoid unnecessary waste of materials

Measuring and marking cutting lines on framing, drywall, and trim using tape measure, straightedge, or square, and marking devices

Cutting drywall to the right size ; (30ft) , using utility knives and power saws

Fastening drywall panels to interior wall studs/frameworks of the building, using nails or screws

Working with metal and wood framing and roof truss components

Using hand or electric tools to fabricate, cut, and install framework

Reading and understanding blueprints and drawings

Helping place and secure wood during the building process

 Qualifications:

Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division on the fly

Able to occasionally lift and move 50 pounds

Take pride in your strong work ethic, positive mindset, and desire to improve

References that verify your professional skills and experience

Must be able to pass background / Clean record

Have reliable transportation to/from job daily

Ability to work all required days and hours
