Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

Set up, operate, or tend machines to cut, punch, crimp, notch, and bend metal material. Read blueprints and measure completed work pieces to verify conformance to specifications using micrometers, gauges, calipers, templates, or rulers. Load metal material into machines, start machines, choose the correct program for desired part, monitor operations, and record operational data. Test and adjust machine speeds and actions according to product specifications using gauges and hand tools. Clean and lubricate machines, position, align, and secure work pieces against fixtures or stops on machine beds or dies. Use hand tools and measuring devices to position guides, stops, holding blocks, or other fixtures to secure and direct work pieces. Grind out burrs and sharp edges using portable grinders. Use forklifts and cranes to move parts. Perform other duties as assigned. Ability to lift up to 50lbs continuously throughout the day and stand in one position for long periods of time. Ability to read tape measures and calipers and perform basic math.
