The Lumen Internship
Lumen offers a fully immersive, 10-week summer internship program. Our interns demonstrate curiosity, innovation, and a passion for advancing technology. The Main Responsibilities
Lumen Technologies is seeking a Digital Content Creator intern who, through a collaborative and iterative process, will support the in-house creative agency by going from concept through completion on various projects and handling production steps along the way. The role emphasizes working on B2B marketing assets for campaign motions, including making stadium graphics and a complete campaign of deliverables like videos and animated ads, particularly for NFL sponsorships. The intern will work directly on these projects, ensuring they contribute real work that will be used in the market. They will also collaborate closely with peers across the creative team, including copywriters, graphic designers, and UX professionals, to work towards common goals.
Applicants must have a working knowledge and a general understanding of the video production pipeline, visual theory, industry standard techniques, technologies, equipment capabilities and software (Adobe CC). Successful applicants will be responsible for creative services including pre-production design, production/animation, and post-production video editing/motion graphics support. Must have an interest in design, color theory, animation, typography, and text graphics.
Working closely with the Art Director and Senior members of the digital content team, applicants will be responsible for many types of work including product videos, solutions marketing, video ads and pre-roll, and projects as assigned. Must ensure consistency while working within approved strategy and Lumen’s visual brand identity. Able to create new on-brand work, or modify existing work as needed; applicants must be familiar with video production best practices and have an interest in evolving trends and techniques.
What We Look For in a Candidate
Program eligibility is contingent on the candidate’s commitment to the entire 10-week program. No exceptions will be made.
Required qualifications:
Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, rising senior level education status at the start of the internship
Graduating August 2025 – May 2027
Preferred fields include but not limited to: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Visual Media Design, Digital Media, Marketing, Communications, Mass Communications, RTVF, or related field
Intern must be able to work 40 hours per week during the 10-week program (May 30 – August 8, 2025)
Required Technical Skills:
Pre-production (Planning):
Ability to work as a team player
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Well-developed sense of visual language
Ability to create storyboards, or outlines to explain concepts clearly and accurately
Proficient in MS Office (PPT, Word, Teams etc.)
Knowledge of basic branding concepts
Ability to address multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Production & Post (Motion Graphics and Video Editing):
MacBook/Adobe CC workflow. Applicants must have a demonstrated proficiency in video editing, 2D animation/motion graphics.
Excellent Adobe CC skills (AE, Illustrator, Photoshop)
Ability to work quickly and accurately
Ability to accept feedback and adapt to shifting priorities
Ability to focus on task-at-hand and adhere to overarching brand guidelines
Motion graphics and text animations for video
Compensation
Internship compensation ranges depend on each individuals level of education, geographic location, and experience/qualifications aligned to the role.
Hourly Based Pay Range:
Min: $22.00/hour
Max: $35.00/hour
Work Authorization
US work authorization required for role. Individuals requiring current or future sponsorship for employment are not eligible.
What to Expect Next
