Job Description Summary
The primary responsibility of this role is to drive the execution and coordination of one or more projects critical to operations strategy, and to coordinate oversight of strategic projects across the Life Sciences Segment. Specific areas of focus for project/program management include maintenance of the master project schedule and budget, ensuring robust communication between cross-functional and cross-site team members, regular status reporting to key stakeholders, and off-cycle issue escalation as required. Specific areas of focus for Oversight responsibilities will include routine leadership reviews, off-cycle issue escalation, and coordination of all required reporting across segment projects. This role may be capitalized or may flow to segment expense, depending on project focus at any given time.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Management (expected to be >80%)
Develops and employs project management tools to ensure proper organizational structure, project planning/scheduling, budgeting, and governance.
Ensures that all routine team meetings and other communication is occurring at required intervals to ensure program success.
Develops communication tools and documentation for stakeholders such as Monthly Dashboards, Annual Scorecards, Key Decision Documentation and Quarterly updates, as well as periodic cross-team/function updates and workshops.
Manages project risk assessments, mitigation plans and problem solving efforts, and directs project resources to focus on the development and implementation of strategic plans.
Manages the virtual teaming environment, including virtual training and equipment testing as required.
Coordinates business process integration across project team locations.
Addresses legal and regulatory project issues globally.
Tracks product global demand vs capacity vs project schedule with key commercial and planning stakeholders, and escalates to leadership for awareness and action, to meet customer demand.
Owns the capital and expense budget as defined in the approved project; addresses gaps and challenges as required to keep the project on track. Meets financial business demands over the years of the project.
Organizes the ongoing technical transfer process for current and future phases.
Leads and escalates issues to the Program Management Office (PMO) and to broader organization leadership as required.
Ensures that all Change Management and Knowledge Transfer activities are planned and execute to deliver on program commitments.
Works with Global Mobility to ensure that all travel between sites globally is planned, approved, and funded to meet project requirements.
Partners with the receiving Plant Manager to build the organization, budget, training, and all other program requirements to ensure a successful startup.
Facilitates effective communication between team members. Leads resolution of team specific issues and escalates issues as appropriate.
Segment Program Management (<20%)
Identifies new strategic opportunities, builds business cases, and gains operations and business leadership approval to proceed. Includes financial approvals as required based on project size/scope.
Remains actively engaged with all strategic operations projects in the Life Sciences Segment, via attendance at team meetings, membership on steering teams, or 1:1’s with project managers.
Ensures that accurate, up-to-date information regarding each project’s status, including schedule and financials, is available at all times.
Consolidates all projects for routine and ad-hoc reporting to segment, ISC, and BU leadership as required.
Identifies and escalates issues to BU and Segment Operations leadership as necessary.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
BA/BS in business, science or engineering; MBA or master’s degree in science or engineering is desirable.
Minimum 10 years of progressive manufacturing/operations leadership experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, device, or diagnostic manufacturing.
Minimum 5 years experience in project/program management roles.
