As a Senior Procurement Manager – Category (Chemicals), you will play a key role in driving the execution of complex global category strategies to improve our spend categories. This is your chance to collaborate with a cross-functional team of sourcing, operations, technical, finance, and other colleagues to prioritize sourcing initiatives, develop strategies, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier relationships.
Scale of Responsibilities
In this role, you will have a wide range of responsibilities, including:
Developing and implementing strategies for complex and strategic categories
Delivering key category performance indicators such as savings, risk management, and supplier performance
Creating multi-year global sourcing strategies to meet category management goals
Technical Responsibilities
You will also have technical responsibilities that include:
Applying a structured Category Management process to develop category strategies
Analyzing market intelligence to identify trends and refine category plans
Engaging with division/site procurement teams to qualify suppliers and migrate spend
Analyzing category supplier performance data and driving continuous improvement goals
Leading supplier-based business reviews and driving key initiatives such as diversity and sustainability
Conducting negotiations for global agreements aligned with category strategy
Leadership Responsibilities
Your leadership responsibilities will involve:
Influencing cross-functional colleagues to align category strategies and activities
Ensuring category strategies and priorities are aligned with divisional business goals
Working with external supply partners and leading cross-functional internal teams to advance key business drivers
Developing strategic partnerships with suppliers and securing capacity
Requirements
Bachelors degree in Business or a technical field, or equivalent experience.
Additionally, we require a minimum of 10 years of procurement/sourcing experience in mid to large multinational companies.
It is essential to have experience in chemical sourcing, and previous involvement in a leadership role is desirable.
