Entry Level Field Technician (SUE/ Survey)

Job Title: Entry-Level Field Technician

Job Description

We are currently seeking entry-level SUE/Survey Technicians to join our growing team in Sanford, FL. This is an outdoor position that requires heavy lifting. This is a long-term opportunity, and individuals will receive training in the technical aspects of Survey and Utility Locating.

Responsibilities

Heavy labor including using equipment, digging, setting up the site, operating a vacuum truck, and site clean-up

Minor maintenance and troubleshooting operating problems on vacuum systems and vehicles

Cleaning and maintaining vehicles, work sites, and equipment

Selecting and applying appropriate geophysical prospecting equipment to accurately designate non-complex underground utility layouts

Basic comprehension and interpretation of utility and highway design plans, atlases, and record drawings

Completing paperwork including record keeping and simple mathematics legibly and accurately

Setting up maintenance of traffic as directed, making basic field measurements, and performing geophysical prospecting as instructed

Qualifications

Additional Skills & QualificationsQualifications:

Highschool education or GED

Must be able and willing to perform heavy labor.

Ability to work outside in extreme heat and weather.

Valid drivers license and ability to pass an MVR check.

Travel required, possibly extensive travel up to 5 days during the week.

Overtime required, as needed.

Ability to lift 50 lbs or more.

Previous Utility locating or survey experience is a plus.

Work Environment

This is a fully on-site position in Sanford, Florida. Outdoor environment, working on a crew of 2-3 technicians.
