Position Summary
Provide competent classroom and laboratory instruction in the area of credentialed expertise. The instructor will adhere to the general faculty guidelines as specified by the Calhoun Community College Personnel Handbook, the Vice President of Academic Affairs, and the Alabama Community College System Board of Trustees.
Salary: Appropriate placement on ACCS Salary Schedule D: $42,108- $94,363 (9 months)
An additional summer assignment may be available: $13,001 – $29,184 (3 months)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Teach at varied times and places and in varied formats based on student demand; day or evening, in Decatur, Huntsville, or at other sites in the traditional classroom, hybrid, or web format.
Evaluate the progress of students in all classes according to institutional, divisional, departmental, and individual criteria.
Collect, maintain, and submit accurate class records including grades, attendance rosters, absences, withdrawal, and/or class drop information to appropriate offices.
Prepare or assist in the preparation of materials used in academic administration when requested, including course syllabi, program outlines, and catalog material.
Manage the Aviation facility to include all buildings within the Aviation area (including the maintenance and upkeep of the classroom and labs).
Assist in the development of discipline-specific student learning outcome objectives.
Assess student learning using multiple assessment strategies.
Analyze and interpret data relative to student learning and provide feedback to the institution and students for the purpose of improving and expanding student learning.
Manage the Aviation facility to insure that industry-type skills are learned by students.
Order all materials for the maintenance of the facility and labs.
Keep all equipment in working or usable order.
Participate in scheduled in-service activities.
Provide academic and career advice to students and promote student leadership and enrichment experiences.
Provide advice to the administration on matters pertaining to the instructional program.
