Ground Missile Defense (GMD) is the heart of the Missile Defense System and a key element of our nation’s defense against ballistic missile attacks.

The GMD Weapon System processes data from multiple sensors to identify and characterize the inbound ballistic missile threat, plans the best defensive solution, and launches the intercepting missiles to negate the threat.

The Work

In this Systems Engineer role, you will be supporting the Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) effort on GWS IDT.

Basic Qualifications:

• 5 Years Experience with a Bachelors Degree in Systems Engineering or related STEM field or 3 Years with Masters Degree

• Must possess an active U.S. DoD security clearance at the SECRET level

• Must possess an understanding of systems engineering processes and principles

• Experience in one or more of the following system engineering knowledge areas: technical planning, requirements derivation, functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, cost and risk analysis, interface definition, system design, system integration, verification and validations, supportability, and effectiveness analyses for total systems.

• Recent experience in requirements allocation & derivation and verification traceability

• Recent System analysis and/or integration experience

• Experience in IBM Rational DOORS system software

• Recent exposure to Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) concepts and tools

• Experience working in an integrated team environment with other systems, software, and specialty engineers to develop solutions

• Must be able to support an in-person, closed-area work environment 100% of the time

• Ability and willingness to travel 10% to support business needs

Desired Skills:

• Advanced experience in requirements test automation & verification traceability

• MBSE experience using Cameo

• Automated testing experience

• Prior experience working on Missile Defense programs

• Advanced experience working using DOORS

• Prior experience using Atlassian Tools

• Familiar with Agile terminology and best practices

• Familiar with automated software requirements testing and analysis

• Experience in Product Owner or Scrum Master roles

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 9×80 every other Friday off
