Starting pay rate $36.61/hour $2,000 Sign On Bonus
SUMMARY
The Electromechanical Technician is responsible for performing facility Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) work on all manufacturing equipment. Duties include installation, programming, troubleshooting, and repair of PLCs. Proactively maintains all plant electrical systems, all equipment electronics, motors, drives and other power transmission systems. This position also has the responsibility to perform any and all mechanical and electrical tasks as assigned.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
May include, but are not limited to, the following:
Perform all manufacturing plant electrical and electronic diagnostics repair and installation, consistent with plant electricians
Write advanced A/B PLC logic program
Troubleshoot and repair PLC circuits
Design and assemble control circuits and cabinets with user interface
Analyze current machinery for PLC automation implementation
Troubleshoot/program/specify motor drives
Maintain/service plant switchgear
Maintains a running log on barrel and screw inventory, changes, history and throughput
Ability to determine when scope of job is beyond existing skill set or requires additional support
Perform all mechanical and electrical duties required, and additional duties as assigned
Comply with company policies for software updating, filing, and archiving of PLC/PC applications
Comply with established safety rules and company policies and procedures
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Associates Degree in Electronics or equivalent training (i.e. Fundamentals of PLCs, Programming Controllers, Troubleshooting and Repair of PLCs) with three (3) plus years of practical electronics experience
Experience with blending and extrusion equipment preferred
Electrical and Mechanical background; 3 phase, 480v power experience required
Must be able to climb and work at elevated heights
Knowledge of 5S and lean principles
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crawl or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position works in a fast paced manufacturing facility. Noise level commensurate with large machinery. Ear and eye protection must be worn at all times; steel toed shoes and long pants are required. Temperatures, although maintained, can be effected by outside weather conditions.
