Staff Accountant

Job Summary:

Under general direction from the Corporate Controller, the Staff Accountant conducts Accounting/Finance department duties to ensure the organizations financial records are created accurately and timely.  The Staff Accountant works closely with internal customers, manufacturers, trainers, and programmers.  Communication and documentation are essential within the department and beyond.

Objectives/Functions:

– Embrace Pomps Tire Professionals Core Values

– Reconcile general ledger accounts including accounts receivable and accounts payable and prepare related schedules

– Prepare and post journal entries

– Assist with month-end closing responsibilities

– Sort, prepare, and code vendor credit invoices for data entry

– Enter invoices into system

– Process credit card transactions for dispatch and call center

– Assist with fixed asset management

– Organize and accumulate data for census filings

– Routine communication with internal customers throughout the Pomps network

– Assists all areas of accounting in a supporting role, as needed

– Assist with the development of new procedures, as warranted

– Assist corporate management with special accounting projects, as needed

Work Environment:

– This position operates in a professional business setting

– Routinely use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines

Physical Demands:

– Regularly lift, push, or move 10 pounds; occasionally lift, push, or move 25 pounds

– Largely a sedentary role

– Employee is regularly required to talk and hear in order to effectively communicate with internal and external customers and co-workers

– Regular use of hands and arms in traditional office environment

Job Requirements:

– Technical Certificate or Associates Degree preferred, in Accounting or Finance

– Proficient computer skills including strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel

– Excellent customer service/communication skills

– Strong attention to detail and accuracy

– Must exhibit confidential and ethical conduct at all times
