As an Engineering Technician I in Mobile Solutions Labs at Donaldson Company you will be given the opportunity to conduct standard and non-standard testing on current and experimental products. This position will normally receive little to no instruction on standard testing where most work assignments are semi-routine in nature. You will apply job skills, test procedures and company policies to complete a wide range of tasks. You must be capable of recognizing when deviation from an accepted test practice is required and ask questions as necessary. You will use your computer skills to prepare accurate records of test results. The Engineering Technician I will develop and maintain positive relations with internal customers and team members as well as coordinate with various functions within the company to ensure customer requests are handled appropriately and in a timely manner. The Engineering Technician I will support and actively participate in lab continuous improvement initiatives and will perform laboratory housekeeping and other administrative duties as directed. Role Responsibilities: Participate in the development of new technology, new products or modifications to existing products to meet technical requirements within time and cost constraints. Consult with the test requestor and/or lab manager to determine appropriate testing methods and understand desired outcomes for standard products. Set – up and conduct performance tests, without supervision, using established standardized formats and procedures in order to identify performance ratings. May adapt procedures, process, tools equipment and techniques to meet the more complex testing requirements with the help and supervision of others. Prepare accurate test data for interpretation and analysis. Appropriately identify test equipment issues and communicate them to more senior level technicians or supervisors. Operate and maintain lab equipment to ensure accuracy and efficiency of testing. Assist with equipment calibration and perform basic test bench maintenance under supervision. Keep lab manager informed of testing activity/challenges on an ongoing basis. Performs operational lab duties as apparent or as assigned. Effectively meet established deadlines. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Minimum Qualifications: Associates degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience as a technician or related field preferred Working knowledge of test equipment and test standards Proficient computer literacy skills (MS Office) Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated mechanical/technical aptitude Ability to readily adapt to changing priorities and take direction from supervisors and team members Ability to communicate concisely and accurately to individuals and small groups Strong attention to detail, accuracy and completeness of data, reports, records, etc. Good organization skills and ability to multi-task Ability to recognize the importance of common goals and working with others to achieve them Employment opportunities for positions in the United States may require use of information which is subject to the export control regulations of the United States.
