PandC Insurance Assistant Underwriter

– Full time.
The position is Monday -Thursday 9-5 and Friday 9-3pm.

Summary:
– An insurance underwriter professional to provide experienced level customer support with insurance applications, renewals, billing issues as well as Microsoft Office (Excel) skill set.
– Level of confidentiality that excels with excellent communication skills.
– Position requires ability to analyze risks and determine underwriting alternatives for best coverage.
– Our broker agency has access to over 30 top-rated carriers that fit the clients needs in any county in Texas.
– We are fast-paced and excel in response time and accuracy.

Duties:
– Underwriting assistants are primarily responsible for supporting the lead underwriters.
– Gathering information about potential clients, including their financial status, credit history, and medical records.
– Maintaining accurate records and ensuring that applications are complete and meet company guidelines.
– Corresponding with applicants and clients via phone, email, and in person.
– Tracking and prioritizing applications and communicating policy approvals or rejections to the relevant parties.

Requirements:
– High School or GED.
– Resume must include at least 3 years of clerical support and 1 year insurance experience.
– Previous experience in administrative roles, preferably within the insurance industry.
– Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
– Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
– Employees must be able to climb stairs, have own transportation, cell phone as well as good attendance record.
– Valid TX driver license (travel to clients location.)
– Min 40 wpm.
– MS Office with special attention to Excel spreadsheets.
– Professional email correspondence.
– Organizational skills to label and e-file client documents and maintain database.

Preferred Qualifications:
– AMS Vertafore software a plus but not required (will train.)
– Experience with AMS software a plus but not required.

Successful completion of a background check and drug screen are required for employment. (Due to the nature of employers business, company policy requires that candidates having criminal background will not be considered for employment.)
