Responsibilities
St Anthony is a designated Pathway Hospital. The Hospital’s Emergency Department is ready for whatever comes through the doors. Our state-of-the-art Emergency Department consists of 18 private rooms and 2 trauma resuscitation beds with IV carts, bedside supply carts and computers in every room. Our outstanding staff provide compassionate, high-quality care that is respectful and patient and family-centered. Our nurses utilize advanced technology and evidence-based guidelines in caring for our patients. Our patient population includes all types of critically ill cases such as sepsis, MI, trauma caused by falls, COPD, CHF and renal failure to name a few. We have a Cath Lab on site and can take code STEMI patients 24/7.
Our Emergency Department follows the split flow model with direct bedding. We have a “quick look” RN and a Rapid Track out of 2 rooms during peak times. CHI-Franciscan’s Virtual ICU helps monitor our critically ill patients in the Emergency Department by providing a 2nd set of eyes by experienced ICU RNs who follow those patients from a distance. Our physicians and RNs practice a dual assessment model where both are present in a patient’s room to assess and set a plan of care collaboratively. Our staff have a close working relationship with the local EMS and we function as a Level IV Trauma facility with an EMS Bay Station and work proactively on disaster drills.
On top of all our Emergency Department has to offer, we also enjoy the benefits of being part of the CHI Franciscan Health family of hospitals and other health care services providing care to our communities throughout the beautiful South Puget Sound Region of Western Washington. Recreational opportunities abound here – we offer water sports, skiing, hiking, shopping, fine dining, theater and an overall excellent quality of life.
