Job Description
This person will be responsible for estimating, designing, and specifying HVAC/R systems in a retrofit/design-build setting with highly variable projects for commercial and industrial applications
Estimate and design HVAC/R systems for various projects, ensuring compliance with local building codes and industry standards.
Prepare detailed calculations, specifications, drawings, and other service retrofit/designbuild documents for the installation of mechanical systems.
Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other engineering disciplines to develop project designs and optimize system performance.
Conduct detailed site surveys to assess existing conditions and identify potential challenges related to mechanical system installations.
Review and approve shop drawings and submittals for mechanical systems to ensure adherence to design specifications and project requirements.
Provide technical guidance and support to project teams during estimating, installation, start-up, and commissioning phases.
Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to select appropriate equipment and materials for projects, considering cost, quality, and compatibility.
Remain up to date with industry trends and advancements, incorporating new technologies and best practices into mechanical system designs
Qualifications
Proven experience in estimating and designing HVAC systems in a retrofit/design-build setting.
Proficiency in Excel
Strong knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to mechanical systems.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues. • Effective communication and interpe
