About the Position: Red River Army Depot (RRAD) is located in northeast Texas, 19 miles west of Texarkana and approximately 170 miles northeast of Dallas. RRAD is near the corners of 4 states – Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas. For more information on Red River Army Depot, go to the following web site: www.redriver.army.mil Responsibilities Perform Preventative Maintenance Checks and Services, (PMCS) on transfer and mainline pumps. Operate fuel tanker truck with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of 33,000 pounds to deliver bulk fuel. Compile monthly reports using systems such as Monthly Bulk Petroleum Accounting System (MBPAS), Fuels Automated System (FAS) and Automatic Gaging System (AGS). Observe fuel samples from commercial tank trucks to determine the grade of fuel. Adhere to strict quality control program by correctly identifying petroleum products. I can operate fuel tanker truck with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of 33,000 pounds to deliver bulk fuel, utilizing gage stick and/or tape and bob method to measure levels of fuel for physical inventory, and compiling monthly reports using systems such as Monthly Bulk Petroleum Accounting System (MBPAS), Fuels Automated System (FAS) and Automatic Gaging System (AGS). – Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Physical Efforts-Work requires considerable standing, walking, bending, working in awkward conditions, and climbing on tanks and heavy mobile equipment. Exerts light to moderate physical effort while performing operations such as connecting hoses, opening valves, and constructing pipe. May be required to work at a rapid pace for long periods of time. Frequently lifts and carry supplies materials, and equipment that weigh over 70 pounds. Moderate physical effort is used in operating hand and foot controls on the forklift. Working Conditions- Much of the work is done outside in all kinds of weather, around moving parts and vehicles. There is some danger of fire, exposure to toxic fumes, excessive noise, vibration, and falls from the top of vehicles. Tanks, pumps, and bulk storage containers are equipped with hoses that collect fumes before they escape into the air. Work is performed in areas that are hot, cold, damp, drafty, or poorly lighted. Work may be dirty, dusty, and greasy. Frequently exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, and bruises, injury from falling objects, collisions, shifting loads, and overturning.
