As a Automation Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Electronic-Trading Risk Management group in Market Risk Technology, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team with a real focus on testing and QA, to help deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firms business objectives.
Market Risk is a product organization at JP Morgan, within the Risk Management Tower of Corporate Technology. The Market Risk group is responsible for calculating and reporting the risk of losses due to movements in market variables like prices and volatility
Job responsibilities
Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, cases, and scripts to ensure software quality
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize testing requirements and achieve thorough test coverage
Perform manual, automated and regression testing, track issues, and verify bug fixes, to ensure software stability and reliability
Design and implement test automation frameworks to streamline testing processes
Analyze and report test results, track defects, and improve testing methodologies
Demonstrate ability to contribute to design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3 years of applied experience
Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and software testing methodologies. Proficiency in test planning, test case design, and test execution
Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate test results and collaborate with stakeholders
Good knowledge of programming languages and tools to write test scripts, such as: Java, JavaScript, React, ExtJS, Cucumber, Cypress, Playwright
Attention to detail and ability to meticulously document test results and defects in tracking tools, such as Jira
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers and product managers
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and troubleshoot issues
Knowledge of database concepts and SQL for data validation and verification
Experience with manual, automated testing techniques and tools and experience in API testing using JMeter
Familiarity with Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD), such as Jenkins, Maven, Gradle
Experience with Observability or logging tools e.g. Dynatrace, Datadog, Splunk, Grafana, log4j, CloudWatch, ELK
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Proficiency with API Test Automation using Blazemeter or JMeter and exposure to Java, Selenium, Spring Boot and Microservices
Experience with Observability or logging tools e.g. Dynatrace, Datadog, Splunk, Grafana, log4j, CloudWatch, ELK
Understanding of Behavior Driven Development / Test Driven Development
Exposure to cloud technologies
Experience with Accessibility Testing (ADA Testing Web)
Playwright UI Automation Experience
Exposure to testing of Micro services based systems
