CooperVision (CVI) is recruiting a Senior Human Resources Business Partner. As a member of CVIs Americas Manufacturing Operations (AMO), the Sr HRBP will lead a wide range of HR / people matters for the assigned client groups with an emphasis on change management and growth-enabling transformation. Accountable for planning, organizing, guiding, and facilitating people related matters for an assigned client group. Provides on-site customer service, counseling, promotes a healthy work environment, manages HR programs, and boosts morale while providing high-caliber HR service. Position is based in our Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico campus.
Essential Functions & Accountabilities:
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed/required.
- Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations in a timely manner.
- Develops and oversees contract terms for employees within their lifecycle. Facilitates transaction and approvals for new hires, promotions, transfers, and any other employee move ensuring they are justified, and well documented.
- Works closely with management and critical stakeholders to escalate issues and proactively remove obstacles in People-related programs.
- Impacts talent acquisition, performance management, development, engagement, employee relations interventions, retention, retirement, terminations, and other critical milestones.
- Identifies skill gaps, capabilities needed for growth and training needs for assigned business units.
- Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
- Analyzes trends, analytics and people related metrics to develop solutions, programs, and HR policies, among others.
- Leads, facilitates, and conducts meetings various setting and with multiple audiences.
- Other duties as assigned.
Travel:
- May require traveling approximately 5% of the time.
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Spanish and English.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, attention to detail, and customer service skills.
- Ability to interpret, and guide the application of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies including people related (job architecture, classification, compensation, employment, among other) practices.
- Robust time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Computer literacy, MS Office suite and other software and applications including HRIS required.
- Five (5) years of experience in a HR generalist role required.
- Regulated manufacturing industry experience highly desirable. Experience leading and managing complex employee matters and transformation, change management exposure required.
- Working knowledge in employment, EEO/AAP, performance management, benefits, compensation administration, training and development, employment / labor laws, Employee Relations and HRIS required.
Education:
- Bachelors degree in business administration (HR major) or related field required.
- HR professional certifications, masters, or advanced degree highly preferred.
