Job Title: Nutrition Program Assistant
Location: Newport, Vermont
Type: Part-Time
Department: Nutrition Services
Reports To: Nutrition Program Coordinator
### Position Overview:
The Nutrition Program Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the
coordination and smooth operation of our home-delivered meal service.
This position ensures that daily meal delivery routes are accurately
organized, meals are assigned to the appropriate drivers, and necessary
updates are made to delivery schedules and client information. The role
is primarily focused on data entry, logistical support, and
communication with meal delivery drivers to guarantee timely and
accurate delivery of meals to homebound older adults in the community.
### Key Responsibilities:
– Data Management: Accurately enter client information, delivery
routes, and meal orders into the database. Ensure all records are
up-to-date and complete.
– Route Coordination: Create and adjust daily meal delivery routes
to optimize efficiency and minimize delivery times.
– Driver Support: Serve as a point of contact for volunteer and
paid drivers, providing them with route sheets and any necessary
changes or updates.
– Quality Control: Monitor meal delivery data to ensure that
clients receive the correct meals on time. Communicate any changes
promptly to the Nutrition Program Coordinator.
– Client Communication: Occasionally assist in communicating
directly with clients regarding meal deliveries, special
instructions, or schedule changes.
– Compliance: Ensure that all meal delivery protocols are followed
and that all client interactions are handled with professionalism
and confidentiality.
– General Support: Assist the Nutrition Program Coordinator with
various administrative tasks, special projects, and other duties as
assigned.
### Qualifications:
– Education: High school diploma or equivalent required;
additional coursework in logistics, office administration, or a
related field is a plus.
– Experience: Previous experience in data entry, office
administration, or logistics coordination preferred.
– Skills:
– Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
– Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to last-minute
changes.
– Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and
comfortable learning new software.
– Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
– Team-oriented mindset and a willingness to support drivers and
staff as needed.
### Working Conditions:
– Primarily office-based with minimal physical demands.
– Occasional phone and email communication with meal delivery drivers
and clients.
– Part-time.
