Job Overview:

The Anesthesia Technician cleans equipment and maintains a stock of supplies. Assists Anesthesia staff as necessary. Is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i.e. damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors, etc.

Qualifications:

Required:

High School diploma or equivalent

Three to twelve months prior hospital related experience

BLS through the American Heart Association

Preferred:

Knowledge of Operating Room procedures and aseptic techniques are helpful

One to three years prior supply processing and distribution experience preferred

Scheduling Requirements:

Day Shift

Per Diem Scheduling

Essential Functions:

Assist physicians with positioning of patients for various procedures

Assist physicians with difficult airway intubation

Cleans and stocks supply carts daily within 30 minutes of availability

Cleans anesthesia machines within one hour of availability (no dust, stains or tape should be found on equipment after cleaning)

Dispense syringes and needles to all anesthesia service areas and maintains daily records

Orders sufficient amount of nonstick supplies

Prepare invasine monitoring lines and set up within 15 minutes of request

Responsible for performing duties independently following established methods and referring questionable situations to superiors or others

Restock supply closets with available supplies daily to minimize hallway overcrowding

Performs other duties as assigned
