What this job involves: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Lab Support Site Services Lead. This role is responsible for overseeing the programs that support client team/operations in the performance of research across R&D and Manufacturing sites. Operations can include, but are not limited to scientific support services, inventory management, hazardous/medical waste management, shipping and receiving, mailroom operations, bulk chemical delivery and gas systems, and laboratory logistics and management. Directs employee departmental training, operational assignments, and associated work performance monitoring. Responsible for the administration of personnel policies. Supports the portfolio sites with budget and performance management.What your day-to-day will look like:
Establishes and maintains close liaison with vendors, JLL staff and client to facilitate quality, cost-effective procurement, delivery, and management of research materials.
Drive adherence to established processes and demonstrate agility and creativity to meet dynamic business needs.
Effectively manage program execution by clearly communicating expectations, accountabilities and providing performance feedback for continuous improvement.
Understands KPI/SLA and other contractual requirements for all supplier and self-performed work execution.
Collaborate with stakeholders to develop improved processes and procedures to meet customer needs.
Escalate risks throughout the organization appropriately.
Provide regular dashboard or presentation reporting on performance.
Develop and foster a positive team culture, encouraging teamwork, collaboration, and safety-first mindset.
Coordinate with site leads for budgetary needs related to lab services and mailroom/shipping and receiving scopes of work.
Stay current with all federal and state regulation/codes, comply with specifications, and ensures regulatory and quality requirements are communicated to team for appropriate execution.
Participates in vendor qualification program requirements.
May serve as JLL representative during internal and external quality audits involving Lab Services and/or mailroom/dock operations and coordinates all audit responses. Coordination with JLL Quality team needed.
May serve as the account-level fleet liaison for company vehicle management.
Any and all other duties and tasks assigned.
Position requires 25-50% travel.Desired or preferred experience and technical skills:
DOT/IATA certification preferred.
Direct supervisory experience preferred.
Inventory management experience preferred.Required Skills and Experience:
Bachelors degree in a relevant scientific or business-related field or equivalent work experience considered.
Prior experience in managing laboratory services or dock operations including shipping and receiving, or mailroom required.
Industry Expertise – Understand the fundamentals of the outsourcing business and a proven leader in the client services arena, including but not limited to, supplier performance management practices, regulatory requirements (i.e. DOT, IATA, OSHA, CFR, FDA, EPA, DEP, etc.).
Proficient in using MS Office Suite, inventory management systems, CMMS systems and purchasing systems.
Strong organizational and management skills with the ability to multi-task and work both independently and on a team.
Ability to function effectively in a dynamic work environment, strong emphasis on customer service.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with team members, suppliers, and customers.
Strong analytical ability with attention to detail to maintain accuracy with data entry and documentation.
