Job Summary
The Senior Asset Management Officer supports all Flagstar Financial business verticals by being directly involved in the establishment of residual and collateral values, the negotiation of end-of-lease residuals with lessees, the resale of off-lease and repossessed equipment, compliance with and implementation of policies and procedures, providing management reporting, etc.

Please note, the expected base salary for this role will be between $99, 732 and $164, 557, with participation in an annual discretionary bonus plan, to be based upon selected individuals specific qualifications and location. We can consider candidates within the continental US for this role.

Job Responsibilities:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establishes residual and collateral values recommendations for proposed lease and loan transactions across a broad spectrum of asset types and industries. Expands and improves matrix value reporting to include residual assumptions and vendor business.
  • Assists in all disposition activities, including monitoring and negotiating of Early Buyouts (EBO), and assists in all remarketing and end-of-lease activities, including planning, negotiating, tracking, and reporting on all facets of residual outcomes and realization as well as inventory resale.
  • Develops specific asset expertise in areas including, but limited to, Renewable Energy (solar, wind, geothermal, etc) and other types focused on ESG. Evaluates new equipment target markets and provide support for new investment opportunities.
  • Participates in the biennial review and update of equipment value matrices, list of approved third party suppliers as well as the annual FASB 13 review. Undertakes special projects such as documentation review focusing on Maintenance & Return Provisions, and any other projects that enhance both the Asset Management processes and Flagstar Financial as a whole.
  • Develops new channels and third-party resources for appraisals, inspections and equipment remarketing in accordance with Bank and Flagstar Financial vendor guidelines.
  • Assists in monitoring and maintaining Asset Management compliance with all Flagstar Financial, Standards Board and other regulatory policies.
  • Assists in the development of systems support, including the testing and initiation of the Asset Management System (AMS), and reporting for all Asset Management activities.
  • Performs physical inspections/appraisals as necessary and attend industry events as required.

ADDITIONAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Performs special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required.
  • Consistently adheres to regulatory and compliance policies and standards linked to the job as listed and complete required compliance trainings. Accountable to maintain compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Required Qualifications:

  • Education level required: Undergraduate Degree (4 years or equivalent).
  • Minimum experience required: 7 Years of Asset/Equipment Management for a financial services company or in combination with a related industry. Other financial services experience such as pricing, portfolio management and credit will be taken into consideration.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ASA (American Society of Appraisers) certification a plus.

Job Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of Asset Management processes as well as of equipment types, markets and values.
  • Self-starter; able to work alone and in a team environment. Consensus builder.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills. Can analyze all available information and overlay into reaching rational and logical decisions.
  • Good modeling skills. Ability to model data and behavioral characteristics to formulate residual recommendations.
  • Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Some travel may be required.
  • Physical demands (ADA): The job requires a moderate degree of physical exertion and stamina such as standing, sitting, walking, driving or infrequent lifting.
