As the Teachers Aide you will provide support to the teacher by assisting students in comprehending daily lessons, and provide direct support services to the Falk students and school.
Our smaller learning environment allows staff to create meaningful relationships with students. The Falk School fosters a supportive culture to empower teacher aides to learn, train and grow from within our own team.
As the Teacher Aide, your day will include:
-Assisting the classroom teacher by performing instructional and non-instructional duties to support students with an Emotional Disability
-Assisting with general supervision of students in a multitude of settings including, but not limited to classrooms, hallways, lunchroom, etc.
-Assisting in fostering a positive learning environment that is conducive to the student’s intellectual, social, and emotional development; considers the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) for the student and mitigating factors
-Utilizing appropriate techniques of behavior management and crisis interventions and perform physical intervention techniques (Therapeutic Crisis Intervention) when necessary.
-Serving as a role model for students, represent pro-social behaviors and emotional competence in the school setting
-Carrying out any other classroom related activities directed by the teacher, principal, or designee.
Qualifications for the role:
-High school diploma, GED or equivalency is required
-Three to Six months of related experience is preferred
-Strong written and oral communication skills
-Operate a computer to perform work, maintain records and prepare reports
-Valid driver license is preferred
Competitive Salary of $20.09 per hour
Shift: Monday through Friday 7:35 AM – 2:35 PM
