Job Description:

Network Engineer Senior

Join our technology leading team of men and women that solve some of the world’s most complex technical challenges. GDIT is seeking an enthusiastic Network Operations Team Lead to expand his/her experience in the IT field by joining our team in support of the Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) mission of the Airforce at Langley AFB, VA.

The Network Operations Team Lead supports the Air Forces’ Distributed Common Ground System (DCGS) Processing, Exploitation, Dissemination (PED) Operations Center (DOC). Specifically, you will be Leading our Tier-1 Help Desk and Tier-2 Network Management teams supporting our Mission Operations and Help Desk services across a global enterprise.

Task: Tier 2 Network Manager/Supervisor:

C onducts fault management to detect, isolate, and correct abnormal network and information processing system component anomalies on a 24-hours-a-day, seven (7) days-a-week basis

Monitors all nodes for operational integrity

As the Manager, responds to after hour trouble calls from your Ops team and direct corrective actions or call higher level engineering team(s) for action.

Coordinates all activities to include shift schedules, outages, and other issues with Sister site

Be available to support team members questions/issues at all times

Populates and examines trouble and error logs for troubleshooting and capturing metrics

Provides technical support to resolve the problem or escalate to the appropriate level

Monitors and administers network tools for troubleshooting and metrics for trends analysis

Logs all network issues utilizing the 480 ISRW approved system of record for problems, errors, and maintenance in such a way to easily generate reports for trend analysis

Provides technical support in data network planning, engineering, and design

Ensures all trouble calls are reported upon receipt to the MCC in the DOC and provide hourly updates until resolution unless otherwise directed by the DOC Crew Commander

Provides metrics illustrating trends and workload to the COR in the form of a PowerPoint presentation

Provides network architecture management and data traffic routing for classified ISR data on the Wide Area Network (WAN) and its components

D etects network faults and initiate troubleshooting and restoral actions for network circuits, trunks and equipment for the DPA

Initiates and maintains trouble tickets and other logs to document these faults as well as corrective actions

Performs activities in support of the DOC’s PED Tasking Order (PTO) such as provisioning bandwidth between DCGS sites and the preparation and testing of circuits

(Requirements):

Minimum of five (5) years of Enterprise Network Management experience

Cisco CCNA Preferred

Possess IAT Level II Security Plus Certification

Previous Supervisory experience In a NOC Type Environment

Demonstrated knowledge and application of network monitoring tools

Demonstrated knowledge and application of troubleshooting a network

The likely salary range for this position is $82,450 – $111,550. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
