Job Summary

We are currently seeking an Electrical/I&C Engineer II or III to support major upgrade and refurbishment projects at Surry Power Station in Surry, Virginia. The position will be filled at the level commensurate with the successful candidates education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Successful candidate provides engineering support in designated company area, or specific engineering activities supporting Subsequent License Renewal (SLR) Projects.

Experience with nuclear power plant design, including the Electrical Power Distribution System and or the Instrumentation and Control Systems at the station

Experience with supporting development of design change documentation

Experience with working in a broad range of Electrical Power and I&C issues both on the component and system level

Performs and/or reviews engineering calculations, analysis, Specifications and Engineering Changes (EC).

Provides cost analysis as needed and develops recommendations based on calculations (e.g. cost for equipment upgrade) for management review.

Exercises independence in evaluating, selecting and applying standards or well-defined engineering techniques, procedures and criteria.

Uses independent judgment in prioritizing and making moderately complex adaptations and modifications.

Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The knowledge, skills, abilities and experience required for entry into this job include the following:

Engineer II: Must have 3 years of Electrical Engineering experience; Engineer III: Must have 5 years of Electrical Engineering experience.

Previously qualified in or designed engineering change modifications using the Standard Design Process

Ability to interpret codes, regulations and practices.

Equally effective working independently or in team environment.

Proven decision-making skills.

Ability to process information quickly and effectively manages multiple tasks.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Willing to get into the field and perform walkdowns and support of testing and troubleshooting of plant modifications.

REQUIRED ENGINEERING CRITERIA: For placement of a candidate in the Engineer job series, the following criteria must be met: Possess a 4-year Engineering degree from an ABET accredited Engineering program based on the year that the Engineering program was accredited by ABET, or Possess a 4-year Engineering degree from an institution outside of the U.S. which is accredited through the countrys own Engineering accrediting body under the Washington Accord as a full signatory, and is a degree that was recognized by the countrys accrediting body on or after the date that full signatory status was achieved, or Possess a 4-year degree in Engineering (non-ABET accredited), Physics, Chemistry, Math or Engineering Technologyand a post-graduate Engineering degree from an institution where the undergraduate degree in the same Engineering discipline is ABET-accredited based on the year the Engineering program was accredited by ABET, or Holds or has previously held a valid U.S. Professional Engineer license.

Preferred: Nuclear Construction and Project Implementation experience, Previous 10CFR50.59 Training, PWR experience, Cyber security, Digital design, EMI/RFI

Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description

For Nuclear purposes only: ANSI 3.1-2014, Section 4.6.1 ( must be documented on form HR-AA-101)

Education: Baccalaureate degree in Engineering or related science (Physics, Chemistry, Math, Engineering Technology acceptable if all other pieces of the third prong of the Required Engineering Criteria listed in KSA section are met).

Minimum Experience for the position:

Related experience which shall include 2 yrs; Nuclear power plant experience to include 1 yr.

Note: Years of experience in job summary exceed the ANSI requirement for related experience (3 years required for Engineer II).
